so this was a photo i had, but you barely can tell its a photo now…

stat

so i was looking through my computer and have literally TONS of old scanned negatives that really wouldn’t be good photos and tons of scanned fabrics, funky papers, and old photos that i really just dont like for one reason or another. I just cant bring myself to throwing it all away just incase one day i might need it. so i decided to do a lot of abstract-like pieces with all these negatives and such i have put in the dark corner of my hard drive. The first photo below is a photo i took in high school, about 6 yrs ago, in my first photo elective. Its has a good composition and is overall a good photo but it is very high contrast and a lack of detail in his face and is a little hot around his face (when i say hot i mean over exposed, or bright white). So with this photo i took advantage of all the things i didnt like about it and added a lot of papers and textures. The second photo is from some old scanned E6 negatives i shot last year. I took just random shots of buildings and railroads, not intending on using them for anything (i thought i broke my holga camera so i was testing it with some expired film). So i took maybe 6 of these negatives and created my own little town street. i also added some textures and papers for effects. thats it..hope to update more later….

Cross-Processed Negatives

February 14, 2009

here are some cross processed fisheye negatives i scanned. Cross-processed negatives are when you take photos with slide film (which is a positive, not a negative) and develop it with C41 chemicals and not E6 chemicals (what they are supposed to be developed with). The outcome you get are very saturated and bright colors. The photos i have here are nothing special.. just messin around but they still look kinda cool. one is an experimental with a lot of different ones all put together in photoshop.

Ok so today i went to the zoo and took a TON of photos and here are some that i have done. My two favorite animals at the zoo were the Merecats (sp?) and the Tiger (who was soooo cute and followed me everywhere in a non “i want to eat you” manner, and purred constantly. Some of the photos are plain, and some are a bit more experimental…
– oh and i hope to have a new site up soon that has my portfolio..more on that later
